STAR Texas

STAR Texas is an incorporated organization comprised of mostly rural school districts across the state of Texas. (Wildorado ISD is a member district and is simply hosting this web page)

Our primary goal is to change the Modified Court Order Civil Action 5281.

Transfer students are the lifeblood of our member districts and the antiquated effects of the transfer provision in the modified order are having an adverse affect on not just Anglo students, but minority students as well. The ability to send your child to a neighboring school district is a choice best made by the parent, not the state. These districts receiving transfer students provide a valuable service for public school choice. Districts who support STAR Texas DO NOT in any way discriminate against any ethnic group when considering transfers. The ONLY discrimination forced upon us is the result of Civil Action 5281. STAR Texas seeks an amicable solution to this one issue and is currently working with the Texas Education Agency towards this.
